RobotPlusPlus closed a Series C funding round led by Qianggang Capital Fund, with participation from GIG Capital Group, Sealand Innovation, Juntong Capital, and repeat investor Fosun RZ Capital. The round totals "hundreds of millions of RMB", equating to tens of millions in USD. Capital will fund global expansion and R&D in embodied AI for industrial operations.
The company builds autonomous robots for tasks that typically require scaffolding and human exposure to hazardous conditions — hull derusting, façade maintenance, wind turbine servicing, and oil-and-gas infrastructure inspection. Its hull derusting platform has been deployed across more than 100 shipyards in 18 countries, servicing over 10,000 vessels. RobotPlusPlus claims 70%+ market share in the segment, with efficiency gains of 5–6x and cost reductions of 30–50% versus manual methods.
The firm operates a commercial fleet that has logged 2 million operating hours, a dataset advantage that competitors in special-purpose robotics cannot easily replicate. Over 60% of its workforce is in R&D, with spending above 20% of revenue for three consecutive years. Customers include Nosco Shipyard, Drydocks World, ST Engineering Marine, Saudi Aramco, and Vopak — indicating traction in both maritime and energy verticals.
The move from single-purpose robots to what RobotPlusPlus calls "industrial-grade embodied intelligence" suggests a platform play: modular systems that can be adapted across multiple hazardous work environments. If execution matches ambition, this positions the company as a horizontal vendor in a market currently dominated by point solutions. Watch for regulatory and safety certification progress in Europe and the US as indicators of real scaling capability.
